Leading Women Empower Women And Girls Everywhere

BookWebIt’s finally here! After three years of hard work and collaboration, Leading Women, 20 Influential Women Share Their Secrets to Leadership, Business, and Life is no longer a just a dream, it is a reality! Our book officially became available December 5 at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and other booksellers.
However, for me, Leading Women is much more than a book; it is a movement. I’m committed to building a community of strong women who help one another to succeed and to create a better world. It’s women helping women in a sisterhood that mentors women and girls coming up the ladder.
Why? Here in the United States, women still earn less than men, fill few government leadership roles, occupy less than 20 percent of corporate C-level jobs, and in their “personal time” assume the bulk of the responsibility for household and family chores. In developing countries women have it far worse – they lack basic human rights and are subjected to violence at staggering rates.
It’s not all doom and gloom though. Women—and the men who support their efforts—have never had greater opportunity. Together we can do so much. I created the WomenConnect4Good.org Foundation with the mission to help women ignite their lives and connect with each other. I support the Convoy of Hope Women’s Empowerment Program, and I serve on numerous boards and volunteer with several organizations to help women and the greater community. Through the work that I do I see firsthand the difference that women can make when they are actively working to help one another.
Please tell us what YOU are doing. It doesn’t require a huge act or donation of time, treasure, or talent to make a difference. Little things add up to a lot. Women have always been agents of change and throughout history there are examples of women stretching themselves to become skilled fundraisers, passionate advocates, powerful leaders, dedicated volunteers, tireless workers, and irresistible forces for social change.
We are all in this together, working to build a new world in which women and girls have social, political, and economic rights and equality with men and boys. Is there an area where you can reach out and lead today, and help create this better world?
