Friday, January 20, 2012, the Obama administration announced that groups would be given more time to comply with the birth control insurance rule. This rule was set up so that insurance companies had to provide birth control to everyone, without out of pocket expenses. Certain groups, like churches, were exempt. As of this ruling on Friday, that exemption changed and now everyone has to comply. This ruling, though, does give them a year to do so.
