We Identify and Engage Male Allies

Whether they realize it or not, men have a significant stake in women’s equality – not only because they benefit from the financial contributions of their wives, and hope for a brighter future for their daughters. Men possess the ability to accelerate women’s progress in the workplace and are a valuable resource for creating opportunities and pathways to leadership. By harnessing their support and working together—women and men—we can break free from the status quo and move toward a more balanced, diverse, and successful workplace.

 

Historically any movement to advance women has been successful not in spite of men (okay, maybe in spite of some of them) but mostly in partnership with them. We need their intentional support, and for them to become allies in our work. This is why it’s important to engage men at every level and remind them that they have an important role to play, that their partnership is valued, and that workplace transformation is something we can only do together. By working collaboratively, we can revolutionize the system, and create a workplace and community that embraces equality and empowers us all.
