Diversity Woman: “Leadership Empowerment for Women Who Mean Business,” is more than a national magazine, it is an integrated print, event, and online business focused on business and leadership development, mentoring, skill enhancement, and empowerment. Founded by Sheila Robinson, it is a thought-provoking and entertaining resource for female executives and entrepreneurs of all races, ethnicities and backgrounds—and the only magazine geared specifically toward this sizable demographic.
I was honored to participate in a panel at this year’s national conference on the topic, “So You Think You’re Ready for a Board Seat.” Being a member of a board serves two purposes: it allows you to make a difference in an area that is important to you and it gives you valuable experience serving in a leadership capacity. Board service opens the doors for other leadership and mentoring possibilities and provides the rewards inherent in truly sitting at the table where important decisions are made. I encourage every woman to take this step to the next level.
Along with my participation in this Career Path presentation, I was asked to supply an article for Diversity Woman Magazine about my favorite topic, “Women Helping Women.” When women connect and collaborate we can do anything.
