Make Yourself a Priority on Wellness Cruise

When was the last time you made yourself a priority? If you’re like many women, it may have been a while. Bestselling author and founder of Diversity Woman Media, Dr. Sheila Robinson, says, “Women are working harder burning out in ways never imagined. Self-care, health, and wellness are some of the most critical aspects of our lives and we are failing ourselves. However, we believe in empowerment, and we believe in you.”

In honor of World Women’s Wellness Day, Diversity Woman Media is bringing together a powerful line-up of women’s health advocates and hosting a Self-Care, Health & Wellness Cruise April 29 – May 3 on the Celebrity Solstice Cruise. The ship will depart from Los Angeles, and will stop along the way in Monterey, California, and Seattle, Washington before reaching the final destination in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The conference will provide attendees the time and tools they need to shift their focus inward on their physical, mental, and emotional selves. The programs and sessions are designed to bring positive awareness to help participants understand the concepts and importance of self-care, mental health, wellness, nutrition, physical wellness, and relationships. The unique conference setting also provides a way for attendees to step away from monotonous zoom calls and learn from renowned motivational speakers, coaches, trainers, therapists, and psychologists who will address issues like work-life integration, courageous challenges, the power of vulnerability, celebration of life while coping with guilt or loss, and the resources to renew and revive their lives.

Dr. Ian Smith, author of the #1 New York Times bestselling books, SHRED: The Revolutionary Diet, and SUPER SHRED: The Big Results Diet, BLAST THE SUGAR OUT, The Clean 20, THE ANCIENT NINE, CLEAN & LEAN and seventeen other books will be the event’s keynote speaker. His 24th book, the MET FLEX DIET is being released on April 4, 2023. He is a longtime medical contributor to Emmy award-winning The Rachael Ray Show, and former solo host of the nationally syndicated, Emmy award-winning television show THE DOCTORS. He served as the medical/diet expert for six seasons on VH1’s highly rated Celebrity Fit Club and is the creator and founder of the national health initiatives The 50 Million Pound Challenge and The Makeover Mile. Dr. Smith is the former medical correspondent for NBC News Network and for NewsChannel 4 in New York, where he filed reports for NBC Nightly News and The Today Show as well as WNBC’s various news broadcasts. A highly sought-after speaker, Dr. Smith’s work has been honored by several organizations, including the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for his coverage on the momentous events of September 11, 2001. He currently serves on the board of WTTW in Chicago and has also served on the boards of the American Council on Exercise, the New York Mission Society, the Prevent Cancer Foundation, The New York Council for the Humanities, and The Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity.

Dr. Nancy is looking forward to attending, and speaking to attendees with Dr. Sheila during a fireside chat about her latest project, Timeless Women Speak, an update to her groundbreaking 2008 book that examines topics around women and aging. Dr. Nancy says, “The perceptions around aging are changing. Today women aren’t hitting 50, 60, or even 70 and heading for rockers on the porch. They are the first generations who grew up with better education, better health care, and developed different lifestyles. Today’s women are proving that regardless of age, there are a number of ways we can all feel good and live healthy, vibrant, productive lives today, tomorrow, and in the years to come.”

Dr. Sheila, who recently wrote Redefining Your Life D.I.E.T.: Transforming How You Look, Feel, and Perform, planned the event around nutrition, body, and health sessions, and like she wrote in her book, providing your body with the nutrients and lifestyle it needs to flourish doesn’t have to come with the sense of depravation that typical diets demand. She hopes to inspire women of all ages to discover that self-care is not selfish but necessary for those who want to thrive in their lives, relationships, and careers.
