The Women’s Initiative (WI) Membership Survey was developed in October and November,
2010, via the Executive Committee of Women’s Initiative of United Way, Lisa Fink, Women’s
Initiative Coordinator, and Sara Best of Aly Sterling Philanthropy, LLC. The goal of the survey
was:
• to engage WI members to understand how they wish their charitable dollars be  allocated and stewarded
• to learn about their expectations and desired outcomes
• to explore areas of membership interest and engagement (Such as new member recruitment and retention practices, leadership involvement, volunteer work, communication preferences, marketing and promotional efforts, events and community outreach activities , benefits for membership, and membership fees)
The full Women’s Initiative membership was invited to complete the online membership survey
via email or in the case of members without access to email, via U.S. Mail. 68 members or 23% of the 342 members contacted participated in the survey.
