Join Us to Save America’s Horses: The Lost Horses Campaign Fly-In Day

March 26 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Date: March 26, 2026
Location: Washington, D.C.

Dr. Nancy, in collaboration with filmmaker Ashley Avis, is proud to support The Lost Horses campaign—a powerful initiative to end horse slaughter and protect America’s equines.

Every year, over 20,000 American horses—wild and domestic—are shipped across borders to be slaughtered for human consumption abroad. These are not unwanted animals; they are mustangs, racehorses, show jumpers, and lesson ponies—many healthy, adoptable, and trusting. This cruel practice is enabled by a legal loophole, but together, we can help close the slaughter pipeline for good.

The Lost Horses campaign, launched in 2025, is a cinematic PSA series featuring emotional vignettes narrated by equine-loving celebrities. Coupled with lobbying efforts and public outreach, the campaign aims to raise awareness, build congressional support, and pass the SAFE Act (H.R. 1661 / S. 775)—a bipartisan bill to permanently ban horse slaughter in the U.S. and prohibit the export of American horses for slaughter.

Fly-In Day Details:

  • Public Rally Outside the U.S. Capitol
Stand with grassroots advocates, national organizations, cultural leaders, and members of Congress to demand humane, accountable federal policy to protect America’s horses.

Why Now?
The SAFE Act has bipartisan support, with 116 cosponsors in the House and broad backing from animal protection groups, equine industry leaders, and the public. Congress is listening, and now is the time to act.

How to Get Involved:

Together, we can protect America’s horses and end this inhumane practice once and for all. Share this event with others who are passionate about saving these majestic animals!
